Posting this 3 weeks later - it feels like it was 3 months ago! It's been quite the July. There was something about this month that seemed long, yet short at the same time.
So how was Michigan? Amazing, as usual. The girls had a blast and Andrew and I even got to relax and go on runs. We decided to leave mid afternoon this year, and that worked out pretty well. The girls took their afternoon naps for the first 1-2 hours and then we ended the first night somewhere just past the Ohio border and spent the night at a cheap motel.
Remember the missing Sonic from last year? Well, we found it! It wasn't our dinner stop, but we did get some icecream.
Adalyn went on and on about the train at the "Red chicken nugget house".
We woke up the next morning and had about 4-5 hours left to go to Michigan.
We didn't really need the road sign to tell us that we had arrived.
The girls were SO good in the car. It gave me faith that we can survive the airplane next month (more on that later).
It was right out to the lake we went...
This girl has zero fear of the water and actually started swimming lessons this week.
Our 2nd day at the lake was 4th of July. It was just beautiful out, so obviously most of the time was spent outside.
I bought these dresses for the girls on Zulily months and months ago, just for this trip, and these images. Of course, my girlies did not want to cooperate for a photoshoot.
All the grandkids.
Everyone
She was not a fan of the small (but LOUD) fireworks that Andrew bought.
lol I love these shots.
I'm continually amazed at how brave this little girl is.
Elles Belles and her watermelon. <3

We did a little early celebration of Adalyn's 3rd birthday.
And then there was the Elsa dress....
She went right into character.
Anyway, obviously it was just a wonderful and beautiful trip. And we could have not have known that our summer together as a family would be cut off....Andrew wasn't suppose to start his new job until Aug.4th, but they called him up to the plate 2 weeks early. It makes this time we spent as a family together even more special.
Last week was probably the biggest week of our family's life since Eloise was born. Andrew started his new job AND well, we put in an offer on our first house!!! We aren't quite under contract yet because there were some issues that came up during the inspection, but seriously you guys, we could be homeowners by late August! Whaaaat?! I need to go to bed, but more on the rest of July and Adalyn's 3rd (double whhhaaaat?!) birthday to come.
