Truth? I've been really burnt out from photography. This is definitely reflected in the number of photographs that have been taken with my big girl camera in the last month. My need to document has not wavered however, and so my cell phone is full of plenty of memories.
I did bring my camera with us to TX for Thanksgiving. Our flight there was the most ridiculous parenting experience of our lives so far. Let's just say that I got to add the motherhood badge of "Caught vomit with bare hands" to my mommy sash.
The girls had so much fun being around a lot of family. Riding the tractor with Grandma was definitely a highlight.
As was swimming in Papa's pool.
And how could I forget Adalyn's first pedicure!
Since I never had a chance to take our Christmas card photos before we left, we took some in Texas.
I have almost this exact image of Adalyn in the same spot and same outfit. So fun!
This miraculous shot brought to you by God (and my awesome mother-in-law!)
Thanksgiving morning started off with the Gruene Turkey Trot and I had my best time for a 5K! That felt pretty good.

We then stuffed our faces and bellies to capacity. It was such a treat to be able to sit outside for dinner.
We even got to visit Cowboy Kringle before we left.
We headed back home the Friday after Thanskgiving, and thankfully, 6 days made a big difference in the flight.
Upon our return, we went off to Stew Leonard's again this year to get our tree. First, let me tell you that it took us 45 minutes to pick out our tree. We wanted the first tree in our new house to be perfect, and we thought we had found it with this one (about the 10th tree we had this guy unwrap).
And then the poor fellow carried this tree to the line for us.
But then Andrew and I decided that we should go bigger. After a bit of a quarrel in the tree lot, we agreed to go BIG, which happened to be too tall for our ceiling. :)
It gave us a pretty good chuckle and memory of our first Christmas in our new house.
Eloise has been interested in the tree from the very beginning. I'll have to take some updated photos, because it's pretty hysterical to look at now. Let's just say that it's very top heavy with ornaments.

"I'm going to DESTROY this. You know that, right?" |
We've really enjoyed the season so far. Adalyn got to see The Nutcracker for the first time, and she was "an angel star" in our Christmas pageant again..hehehe
(This girl is going to be a performer of some kind, for sure. Please pay attention to this one.)
And we even saw Santa visit in a Helicopter!
But my favorite part of the season has been lazy weekends cozied up by the fire with good food, Christmas movies, and family.
We went caroling with friends last night and are off to see some crazy Christmas lights tonight!
