15 Weeks and Winter MishMash

Well I said it was going to happen, and I completely forgot to take a 15w picture this weekend!  And since Andrew usually takes it for me in my family room, there is no doing it during the week.  So here you...cell phone snap from yesterday just before I headed out to the gym.

How far along?: 15w, 4 days

How big is baby?:  about 4 in. or the size of a naval orange.

Weight gain/loss?: +7lbs  I think I'm done weighing myself for a bit.  It never makes me feel good to see it go up, even if it means that baby is getting bigger!

Stretch marks?:  Just the oldies.  Please no newbies.

Maternity clothes?: That laundry basket right there?  That's just 1/4 of them that I finally washed and put in my closet.  I think I'm finally getting to the point of belief that this will be a take-home baby.  For a while, I didn't want to jinx anything by bringing out the maternity clothes to0 soon, but I'm clearly needing them now.

Sleep?:  Better than last week and I'm able to fall back asleep after getting up to pee.  Of course, I started to get a cold last night, so it wasn't the most restful of nights.

Food cravings?: I still really want  anything vinegar-y or lemon-y.

Gender?: Andrew and I have officially decided to be Team Green and wait until Baby August is here!!

Movement?: Some flutters every once in a while.  I was excited to learn at my ultrasound that I don't have an anterior placenta this time (like I had with both the girls) so I should be able to feel movements more regularly with this babe!

Belly button?: still an inny, but I feel SO much bigger this time than I was with either of the girls.  I wouldn't be surprised if it actually popped.  This was 15w with Eloise:

Symptoms?:  Other than my annoying cold that showed it's face this morning, I'm feeling pretty good.  Just the usually fatigue.

What are you looking forward to this week?:  ummmmm my 30th birthday in the Bahamas!!  Andrew and I are dropping the girls off at my parents tomorrow night and we leave very early Friday morning and come back Sunday night.  I seriously can't wait.  And Andrew has made dinner reservations at 2 surprise restaurants for Friday and Saturday night.  ahhhhh!!

I'm really needing an escape from this awful cold weather.  We've just had entirely too much snow and temperatures below 20 degrees.  The snow was fun at first.

But there were too many cold snow days where we couldn't even play outside because of the frigid temps.

We celebrated Andrew's 31st birthday on the 15th!

And for the first time, I cooked filet mignon in the oven - it was pretty good!

And then we've just been making the best of this cold weather and playing a lot inside.  Love our girls!!

14 weeks | Baby August

How far along?: 14w, 1 day

How big is baby?:   Around 3.5in.  From my weekly email:

  • He's probably sucking his thumb and wiggling his toes in there!
  • His kidneys are making urine, and his liver and spleen are doing their jobs, too.
  • And he's growing lanugo, a thin, peach-fuzz-like hair, all over his body — it will help him keep warm!
And here is a fun look-see at our little babe!

Weight gain/loss?: +6lbs.  I'm feeling pretty huge this week.  Everywhere.

Stretch marks?:  For some reason, I feel like this is going to be the pregnancy that gives me tiger stripes.

Maternity clothes?: I've worn two pairs of maternity pants this week.  They are still a little too big, but I'm just too far
beyond fitting my regular clothes.  Even my bras are done.

Sleep?:  I had trouble this week falling back asleep after getting up to pee around 3am.  I'm tired!  I'm also really looking forward to the purchase of a new mattress.  The AuPair that will be joining our family in June will be getting out bed, and we are getting a KING!!

Food cravings?: I had a day this week where I couldn't get enough things vinegar-y.  I finally understood why so many pregnant women want pickles.

Gender?:  We are still thinking about waiting until the birth.  I'm just so nervous about all of the ultrasounds I have to get.

Movement?: Other than seeing little peanut wiggling around on my ultrasound on Monday, I haven't felt anything this week.  I'm struggling to not break out the dopplar just to ease my mind.

Belly button?: Still an inny.

Symptoms?:  Just fatigue...and some impatience. ;)

What are you looking forward to this week?:  We had a wonderful fancy Valentine's Day dinner last night and we celebrated Andrew's 31st birthday today.  I'm looking forward to Andrew being home tomorrow.  :)

13 weeks | Baby August

Can I first just say how excited I am to be posting baby's first bump update?  I can't believe that we are here for the third time, and feel just so, so, so grateful.  I meant to start these at week 12 like I did with the girls, but it just didn't happen this week.  I imagine that will happen from time to time from here on out, but I'm going to try to do my best, and take real pictures instead of cell phone pictures so I have a really cool comparison at the end.

How far along?: 13w, 1 day

How big is baby?: Apparently the size of a peach.  My OB gave me a little sneak peek ultrasound on Thursday because my NT scan got cancelled because of the storm last week.  Baby looked great and was wiggling its little hands!  I go into the hospital for my scan tomorrow morning.  I can't wait to have an updated picture!

Weight gain/loss?: +4-5lbs, right where I usually am at this time.

Stretch marks?:  Just a few leftover on my side from Eloise.

Maternity clothes?: I'm definitely at that awkward point where my regular clothes don't fit, yet my maternity stuff is way too big.  I did have Andrew get them down from the attic today.  I have A LOT of maternity clothes! haha

Sleep?:  I can't really complain.  The girls sleep through the night, and I just get up once to pee and usually can go right back down.  I'm averaging 7 - 7.5 hours though and really need to more at 9.

Food cravings?: I just have random cravings for things here and there.  Yesterday it was tuna salad over a salad and Andrew made me this awesome tuna salad when we got back from the gym.  Today, it was a salad with very lemon-y dressing.  So I made that myself!  I'm finally starting to want and crave healthy things again (vs. all the pasta and carbs from first tri), so I'm hoping I can keep to a 30lb weight goal for this pregnancy.

Gender?: So, up until about 2 days ago we were for sure going to find out.  But, believe it or not, Andrew is the one who has done some convincing that I should wait until the birthday.  I would be excited about doing this except that I have an u/s once a week to check the length of my cervix (due to issues with both Adalyn and Eloise).  I know that I could be strong for the big anatomy scan at 20 weeks, but I'm not sure I would have the willpower to continuously say "no, we don't want to know" every month until August.  For now, we are undecided!  People keep asking me if I have an idea of what baby is.  I really don't.  I keep picturing a little boy being here in the Fall, but this pregnancy has been somewhat similar to the girls' pregnancy, so I don't know...time will tell.  :)

Movement?: Every few days since about 5 days ago, I could feel random flutters here and there.

Belly button?: It went back to normal after Eloise, and I'm hoping it stays that way. It never really popped with either of the girls.

Symptoms?:  Fatigue is still hitting me pretty hard, with waves of nausea here and there.  I have to say though, this first trimester seemed much tamer than with the girls.

What are you looking forward to this week?:  NT scan tomorrow and Valentine's Day/Andrew's birthday dinner on Saturday.  I really want him to pick where we should go, but we all know it's really dependent on what I want to eat that day.  :)
