18 weeks & Spring?

How far along?: 18w, 6 days

How big is baby?:  about 5.6 in. or the size of a sweet potato

Weight gain/loss?: +9lbs

Stretch marks?:  Just the oldies.  Please no newbies.

Maternity clothes?: Yup.

Sleep?:  The last 2 weeks have been all over the place with sleep.  Last night the girls slept straight through, but even as tired as I was, I couldn't fall asleep before 10 and I was up at 4:45am.

Food cravings?: None.  It's actually really annoying me.

Gender?: Still Team Green.  Anatomy scan is on the 26th and I'm determined to stay strong!

Movement?: More consistent movements, but still no genuine kicks.

Belly button?: still an inny.

Symptoms?:  NONE.  none.  none.  :) :) :)  Well, other than being tired.  But I'm pretty sure that's just a function of having a 3 1/2 year old and an almost 2 year old.

What are you looking forward to this week?:  The girls and I are headed to Houston tomorrow morning (6:30am flight!) to not only get to be with Andrew, but celebrate his brother's wedding!  The girls are flower girls and I can't wait for it.

Practicing...I mean seriously. gahhhhh

cell phone snap

I'm looking forward to feeling some warmer temperatures again, even it does look like it's going to rain there all weekend.  It looks like we will be missing a decent snow storm Friday night too.  I seriously can't take anymore snow.  You know you are desperate to get outside when you let your kids play on their swing set with snow still on the ground.  Anything above 50 at this point would be wonderful, but the forecast for home next week doesn't look much better.  #getmeoutofarendelle

My 30th | 16 & 17 weeks

Last week went by so fast, that I completely forgot to do a 16 week post!  And yes, didn't even take a 17 week picture this weekend.

The Bahamas were amazing and I had what was probably my best birthday ever! I was eager to feel some warmth and sun, spend some quality time with Andrew, and admittedly to take a break from being a mommy.

The girls stayed with my parents (THANK YOU SO MUCH MOM AND DAD!) and we dropped them off Thursday evening and left for our flight to Nassau at 6am.  It was 10 degrees outside.

An on-time and uneventful 3 hour flight later, we were in a taxi on our way to the Atlantis Resort!  I purposely left my big girl camera at home, but the iPhone did a pretty good job.

I remember telling Andrew that I didn't care if all we did was just drive around in a taxi the whole weekend.  To feel the fresh warm, see the ocean, and not have a single responsibility to worry about - it was pure bliss!

Atlantis is such a huge place that it's on it's own little island - Paradise Island.

There are all of these little spots throughout the resort where they have sea turtles, sting rays and nurse sharks to see.

We were on the beach by 1:30, I think and I could not have been happier.

We went out to a what was probably the fanciest dinner we've ever been on.

I'm obsessed with breakfast buffets, so we went to our hotel's breakfast buffet for my birthday breakfast and sat outside.  I think this was my 3rd plate.

Then we had to go walk off all of that food, so we went for a long walk on the beach.

We basked in the sun and alternated between swimming in the ocean and pool ALL DAY.

I finally had a chance to read an entire novel and chose "The Invention of Wings".  If you love historical fiction and stories about abolition, you will LOVE this story.

Andrew planned another special dinner for my birthday and we took a shuttle to The Ocean Club.  I could not get enough fresh fish while I was there.

Our waiter brought me these chocolate covered strawberries with our dessert.  :)
After dinner, Andrew and I took a walk at the Marina where the locals were putting on a dancing parade - obviously in honor of my birthday ;)

Then we decided to try our luck at the casino.

My grandparents had given me $100 cash for spending money on the trip, and I put $20 in a slot machine and after three spins, won $300!!!  Andrew convinced me to quit while I was ahead and I enjoyed smelling the crispy benjamins.

On Sunday morning, we woke up and I went for breakfast sandwich on the beach.

We caught a bit more sun before we had to head to the airport to fly back.

It was a short trip, but 3 perfect days.  Of course, we came back to yet another snow storm and the realization that we had to get snow off of our roof ASAP.  At least that $300 was put to good use! (that is NOT Andrew up there)

Andrew was in Vegas for his brother's bachelor party last weekend, so he wasn't around to take my weekly bump picture, but I'll get one this week for sure.  Here is an update anyway.

How far along?: 17w, 3 days

How big is baby?:  about 5 in. or the size of a big onion.

  • rubbery cartilage is now turning to bone.
  • growing some meat on those bones — putting on some fat.
  • growing a stronger, thicker umbilical cord, too.

Weight gain/loss?: +9lbs

Stretch marks?:  Just the oldies.  Please no newbies.

Maternity clothes?: Yup.

Sleep?:  For the most part, it's been pretty good.  Eloise has some sort of stomach bug on Saturday and Adalyn got hit last night, so I'm pretty tired today.

Food cravings?: Not really much of any this week, though after looking at that picture of a breakfast sandwich, I think I'm going to stop and get a bacon, egg, and cheese from Dunkin Donuts on the way to pick up the girls.

Gender?: Andrew and I have officially decided to be Team Green and wait until Baby August is here!!

Movement?: Finally some consistent movement this week!  It's still really faint, but I LOVE it.

Belly button?: still an inny.

Symptoms?:  It's safe to say that other than just about anything making me tear up, I've entered that symptom free stage of pregnancy!

What are you looking forward to this week?:  Andrew returning from his business trip.  He got put on assignment in Houston and it's been hard adjusting to his new travel schedule.
