The Bronx Zoo!

When Andrew and I were dating, we were pretty spontaneous.  We would randomly feel like going hiking for the day, play hooky from work, and then go climb a mountain.  I remember once, right before we left, we thought it would be a lot of fun to make it a camping trip.  So, on our way to the mountain, we stopped at Target and bought a 2 person tent.  Side note:  a 2-person tent becomes a one person tent when one of your persons is 6'4 240lbs.  I digress...Anyway, our spontaneity has vanished to almost nothing after having Adalyn.  We are still pretty adventurous (taking a 10 month old half way around the world on a 6 hour time change counts as adventurous, right?), but it was about time that we decided to do something cool last minute.  Well, obviously our idea of "cool" has changed too, but we were super excited when my friend texted me at 9pm Saturday night to see if we wanted to join them at the Bronx Zoo on Sunday.  We almost immediately said yes, even though it meant missing church. We had such a fun day!  The best part of the day was in the gorilla exhibit when a gorilla came right up to the glass to say hello.  I wish we had thought to record Adalyn's giggles on video.

Father's Day 2012

wooohoo!  It feels so good to catch up on personal pics.  I wanted to make Andrew's first father's day super special since he made an extra effort to make my mother's day so awesome.  The day started off with eggs, toast, and turkey bacon.  I NEVER make breakfast, so that counts as something special.  I so wanted to make blueberry pancakes, but I forgot to buy syrup, and pancakes without syrup are not worth the calories to us ;)   Andrew then got his new iPhone since he had to give up his blackberry at work.  The phone came with a super cute iPhone cover with Addy's picture on it.  We then headed off to church, had lunch at home, headed to our local park, and then off to my parent's house for dinner.  My brother was in town too.  It was a great day!  Adalyn is clearly one of the luckiest girls in the world.  And, wow, does she love her daddy!  I've said it a million times, but choosing this guy to be my husband was the best decision I ever made.

Oh, and these bath time pics are from that Saturday.  Bath time is daddy time.

And this is the new do!

My daddy! <3  This guy would do just about anything for me or Adalyn.

No, we were not grilling chipmunk.  Adalyn found a dead one in the backyard.
