Well, we're back from an awesome time in TX. There is something about the pace of life down there that is incredibly appealing. As you might have guessed, I'm feeling the stress of taking a week off, and having a difficult time playing catch-up. That's one of the biggest downfalls of not only owning your own business, but also being your only employee. :\
On top of that, Ellie has a pretty bad cold/virus and is
While I have a quite a bit of pictures on my real camera to show, it will be a while before I get them on here. So for now, my cell phone dump! (As a side note, Androids have terrible cameras and it was something that I didn't even think about when I picked out my phone last fall. Since Andrew hates his iPhone, I think we will be trading phones soon. I can't pass up a good camera!)
We arrived on Sunday afternoon, ate some delicious Salt Lick bbq which reminded us of our wedding, and then I prepared for a mini workshop with a local newborn photographer. It was so fun for me to see how someone else was running their studio and I learned so much!
We then headed to Andrew's dad's lake house, which is basically an awesome resort on the water. We spent most of the next 3 days on the dock, jet skiing, and boating. There was no internet connection there which did help me to really take a break from working.
Sup y'all?
She much preferred the lazy float down the river. Although by the end of our trip, Andrew was literally throwing her in the pool and she was having a grand old time in the water.
Andrew and I got together with his brother, sister and friends and went for our own float (with perhaps a bit too much beer) down the Comal river. Funny story - I did this with him in 2009 and remembered it being kind of boring. Fact :: doing nothing but floating down a river in a tube with beer in your hand and warm sun on your face is exponentially more enjoyable when you have 2 kids.
And then we just ate a lot. We always eat incredibly well when his mom is around. :) I might have a few more lbs to lose now.
While our flight down to TX was without incident and oddly easy, the flight back started like this, and it was exponentially more challenging.
More to come soon!
