Sleep is overrated.

Dance parties in the kitchen and giggles in front of mommy's cell phone are way more fun than bedtime.  Sometimes it's just worth it to wait for daddy to get home.

And icecream past bedtime?  Completely necessary.

When the week has been long and hard, and you haven't seen each other except for 5 minutes in the morning and 10 minutes at night, a date night in NYC is just what you need.

"It will all be worth it."  That's what someone texted me today.  I'll admit, there are moments when I'm not sure.  There are moments when I want to wipe my hands of my business, MY dreams, Andrew's dreams for his career.  Moments when I do just want to change diapers, bake muffins, and have Andrew home for a perfectly prepared dinner every night.  While I would like a few more of those days, it's just not me - not us.

I've never worked so hard in my life to be a good mother and to grow a business.  It's been blood, sweat, and tears - literally, blood, people!  {Last week, I was running to the door to get a print order from UPS before he could ring the doorbell and ruin nap time, and I stubbed by toe on the baby gate}

Andrew's been working even harder, I think.  Between classes, teaching Economics, and recruiting for his new job in the spring, it's been A LOT.  We are praying that God puts the right opportunity in front of him and that we know where Andrew will be working by this time next month.  That would take a lot of pressure off of us all.  We are also praying that God will give us a clear sign of the type of job that Andrew should take.  Some mean A LOT of money - like a signing bonus that is way more than what a lot of our friends make in a year.  And some don't mean as much money, but mean that he will be able to be home more often.  We know that there will be some difficult decisions ahead of us, but there is so much comfort in knowing that we are not alone in this decision.

The busyness of my business has gotten a bit out of hand as well, and I'm currently working full time vs. the part time hours that it was supposed to be.  It got really hard for me to say 'no' and I know that my pride and somewhat selfish ambitions got a ahead of me.  I have more work to do than I have time, and that has meant that I've had to sacrifice a lot of sleep.  I don't want to do the extra work while the girls are awake, so most nights, I get started at 8pm.  This is obviously not sustainable and I'm happy to say that I've declared myself booked through February of next year.  I've also realized that the maximum number of sessions I can take are 5 a month, and I WILL stick to that from here on out.  This week alone I have 6 sessions.  Pray for me. ;)

Anywho, more pictures of our precious little family:

I am trying to soak up as much outdoor time as possible before it gets too cold out.  Adalyn does not mind.

And Eloise is getting better and better at sitting up!

Both the girls love watching football on Sundays.

Andplusalso, E is FINALLY getting some hair!

I didn't buy any clothes for Eloise since she fits in all of A's old stuff, but I could not pass up matching purple zebra print pajamas.

Ellie Bellie is always a good subject for me to catch up on my 365 project :)

And lastly......on sunday after my last shoot of the weekend, we all headed out to one of our favorite parks to play some soccer.  Love our family time. <3

Adalyn, today.

Today, Adalyn had her 1st visit to the dentist.

She also went to the park and collected acorns.

Oh, and started to wear my jewelry.  :)

Oh, oh, and how could I almost forget that time when I was giving Eloise a bath and heard Adalyn's bedroom door shut...and you know, THAT TIME WHEN SHE LOCKED HERSELF IN HER BEDROOM AND I HAD TO CALL THE POLICE DEPARTMENT TO HELP ME GET HER OUT.

ummm yea, so that happened today too.

Eloise, 5 months (and 1 day)

Is this really possible?  Wow, baby girl, you are growing up soooo fast!  You are 15lbs exactly and I don't have any official stats on height, but I'll ask daddy where he put the measuring tape when he gets home. :)

You just upgraded to 6 month clothing, and I'm loving that you are my little peanut.  You are most happy either perched on my shoulder like a parrot with your sweet arm wrapped around mine, OR when you are standing.  I've been practicing sitting with you, but you much prefer to have your feet on the ground.  I'll be setting up your jumperoo tomorrow.  I have a feeling you are going to LOVE it!

And a close inspection of your eyes reveals they still match your Daddy's and sissy's.

Most days, you wake up around 8am, nap around 10:30, 1:30, and 4:30, though today you only took 2 naps (but they were longer!).  I'm actually really looking forward to you having 2 longer naps each day.

I think you are starting to teethe.  You like to chew on everything, and this sometimes creeps into your nursing sessions.  Please stop that, baby girl.  ;)

You are able to fall asleep on your own and still won't take a pacifier.  The last few nights, you've been waking around 11pm and 3:30am to eat.  The time is coming when we are cutting out those feeds missy.  Enjoy it while you can.  :)

You are just the happiest and cutest little thing and the first thing everyone says when they meet you is "She is just so smiley!" It's true - you are quite the ray of sunshine.  xoxo Mommy

Andplusalso, you are my twin.
