Well, it's been 2 weeks since Andrew's actual graduation from his full time MBA program at Stern, and what a 2 weeks it has been. I'm so proud of him and all that he has accomplished for our family. I'm so grateful that he is a man with dreams, ambition, and the stamina to see it all through. I'm not sure there could be a better role model for our girls.
Andrew's mom was in town for the big day and we all headed out to the city to watch him cross the stage! It was rainy outside and hard for the girls to sit through the ceremony, but it was a wonderful day celebrating all that he has accomplished. It's a rare thing in the finance world to be able to have the CFA and MBA next to your name, and I know it will serve him well.

The joy of that weekend was just a bit clouded by my Dad's cancer diagnosis. That C word is just the worst thing you could ever hear. For about 8 days, we all kind of held our breath until more tests were done. Thanks be to God that his tumor is small and the cancer has not spread anywhere and he won't even need chemo or radiation. Dad will have surgery in 2 weeks to remove the tumor and we are praying that there are ZERO complications for him.
The unofficial start to summer was kicked it off with a visit to the pool. Budgeting for the pool seemed like a necessity for our family this summer and we've already been 4 times! It's incredibly fun to watch Ellie really enjoy all that the season brings...naps outside being a nice one.
On Sunday evening, we headed over to my parents house for the first grilling of the season.
Miss Adalyn, who has been fully potty trained for 3+ weeks had a couple of potty breaks.
And lots of watermelon!
Dad's smoker once again smoked us out....
We all went for a run Monday morning and then ended it at the parade in town.
And we had out own first BBQ of the season on our deck.
Andrew is still interviewing for jobs, so he has been home a lot more. It's been really amazing having someone to help with dinner and bedtime every night, and I'm trying to soak it all up because I know it's short-lived.
It's been quite the exercise of "giving it all to God"lately. There is a chance that we will be moving across the country for his job, but there is also a good chance that we will be staying here. Just this morning, we drove Andrew to the train station and waved him off as he went for a 3 hr interview in the city. He has been holding out for a restructuring position with a turnaround company since he knows that's what he really wants to do. This was an interview for just that. The other opportunities are basic corporate banking/finance positions which would still be great, just not his ideal place to work. We are praying that the offer from this restructuring company would come before he has to make a final decision on the corporate banking job....that's what Andrew wants anyway. We've all sacrificed and worked hard the last 2 years for him to be able to do what he loves, so it definitely seems worth it to wait it out to see if restructuring is a possibility. There are definitely moments when I'm on "Team Get Out of Here". Fairfield County is just such a hard place to live. Any job that that allows you to live comfortably means that you don't ever see your husband. There is, of course, my business and my parents here which are two great reasons to stay. But, I'm going to be scaling WAY back on business starting in July. I've experience working full time the past 2 months and it's been so hard with the 2 girls. I definitely think a typical 9-5 where your out of the house would be a lot easier, because it's just way too tempting to want to play with girls or take them places even on my designated "work" days. It just means a lot of late evenings at the computer and I'm definitely over it. I mean, even when you LOVE your job, playing with your own kids is way more fun.
