How is this possible? For sure, one of the reasons why I love and NEED photography in my life is because time goes by way too fast with two little children. I don't even think it's a function of our schedules; It just is what it is. The phrase "the days are long, but the years are fast" could not be more true over here. Seriously, without the following photos, I would probably have zero memory that any of this actually happened.
We've sort of ceased work on the house for now and all there is really left to do is paint the upstairs bathrooms and the sun room. I keep Andrew plenty busy hanging pictures and curtains though. ;) I swear, the next post will be some interior pictures!
Andrew's mom was in town to kick off the Fall season. We headed out to a local farm's fall festival and had some wonderful family time. This did mean skipping Ellie's nap, but she didn't think that was a good idea.
I love that Adalyn is now old enough to enjoy playing games!
{{Dearest Eloise, I feel terribly that you don't have a 18 month post. A year and a half is such a sweet milestone. It's certainly a challenging age, but also such a fun one. You still are my little peanut at just over 20lbs (25th percentile). I can't remember how tall they said you were (sorry!) but they did say 75th percentile for height. You are spunky!! And you don't take anything from anyone. I love the strong, spirited personality you've developed. You are obsessed with your big sister, and your favorite thing in the whole world is your stuffed giraffe, Giraffey. You have about 15 or so words and we are working on your using your words more. And goodness me you are cute!!!}}
Anyway, Adalyn loved painting her pumpkin, and after that, I attempted to get photos of the girls together. hahahaha
I'm not sure why I still try and go for the posed pictures when I know that I always love these the best.
In other news, Eloise now has enough hair for a pony and a bow!

And then, just like that, it was the weekend again. How do the weeks go by so fast?!!!!! I had dreamed about going real pumpkin picking this year, but the "patch" at Stew Leonards was once again too tempting. SO we went, and it was perfect. I just wish that we didn't go at noon so I could have had better light for pictures. ;)

The weekend before last, we headed out on our bi-monthly Costco trip. Since I had cleaned the whole house early in the day, it made sense to just eat dinner there and not dirty up my floor or kitchen.
This is Giraffey. Eloise can't sleep without him. We lost him at Costco that night and it turned into a HUGE deal where I was driving all around our town looking for a replacement. Thankfully, a good old Facebook mercy post out to friends, led us to a replacement 5 minutes away...and we now own 3 Giraffeys. :)
I've been maintaining my sanity during busy season by keeping up with my running. We have a routine set up where I'm able to get in about 10-12 miles a week, half with the double stroller and the other half either on my work days when the girls are at daycare or when I can get to the gym. I really wanted to have the time to continue training for another half marathon this Fall, but I got off my training program with all of the house stuff, and so, I'm content to at least be doing this. The neighborhood run is gorgeous right now!

The girls now go to daycare 2 full days a week, Tuesdays and Fridays, and I'm loving our weekly schedule. Eloise and I have mornings together M, W, Th, and I get both my girls on those afternoons. Most of the time I'm checking emails Monday mornings and Eloise gets into all sorts of mischief.

September was super light with photos of my own girls, so I've been trying to get out my big girl camera a bit more this month.

I never regret it. Even when the images don't turn out as planned.
Perhaps its the new home, but there is something so special about this Fall. There are just so many wonderful memories being made. Don't get me wrong, our days are plenty full of tantrums and drama, and crying and biting (miss Ellie) and stress....and frozen chicken tenders for dinner...but you just can't beat life with these girls right now.
Oh, and I almost forgot about the new swing set! It's obviously the perfect addition to our house.
If only we could keep the slide free of bugs.....haha
This past weekend we had a weekend with virtually no plans other than me having a few sessions and it was glorious! I did try and get the girls' formal Fall pictures, and I'm super happy with what Andrew was able to help me get.

I will leave you with this...a snapshot of a morning before I dropped Adalyn off at preschool:
