Baby girl, I don't know where the last 4 years have gone, but I do know that the last 4 years have been the best of my life. You are such a ray of sunshine to everyone you meet, and even though 4 years old has brought some parenthood challenges for me, I'm learning to embrace your independent and strong-willed spirit. You are extremely affectionate and love to give hugs and kisses - even to complete strangers! Every new child you meet is your new best friend, and you are the most loving big sister. I cannot wait to see how you care and love on your newest sibling, who is due just about any day now. You can now swim on your own without a flotation device, love to play dress up, watch My Little Pony, and be outside. You are content to swing on our swing set for hours on end and no longer want my help pushing you. Actually, as long as you are moving in some sort of way, you are happy. :) You will continue ballet in the Fall and I'm signing you up for soccer as well. You are just a happier kid with planned things to do and a weekly structure to follow (the apple doesn't fall far from the tree). I've been thinking about what your favorite food is right now, and I can't really think of any one thing. It seems to change by the week, but you will try just about anything but broccoli or asparagus. You have your well check-up next week, but I do know that are 43lbs and still off the charts for height. I have to buy size 6 clothes for you this Fall! Can you please stop growing and be baby forever? Just kidding (sort of)...I'm so proud of how you are growing up and what a wonderful little person you are.
We celebrated your birthday for a whole week. Not knowing when your newest sibling would arrive, I was nervous to do a birthday party so close to your actually birthday. So instead, we had a fun playgroup birthday party with your friend Ethan. His momma hosted it at his house, and we had pizza, cupcakes, and balloons to celebrate, and all of the friends you have known since you were less than a month old!
Your Grandma came all the way up from Texas to celebrate with you, and the next day we went peach and raspberry picking.
We picked too many peaches. I'll be making smoothies for months!
Obviously some of birthday pictures were going to happen, so in the 95 degree heat and humidity, we ventured out and snapped a few!
At your request, I ordered a very special My Little Pony Cake for your birthday. Since Grandma had to leave in the morning, and since I am 9 months pregnant and loving all things sugar, we decided to celebrate right when we all woke up! I set up your cake, balloons and presents the night before, and you were quite surprised!
