Work, lenses, and a flame.

My first week of being back to "work" went great!  I worked from home Wednesday morning, went to the office of my very first event client on Thursday, and met with a friend and founder of another organization Friday morning.  I'll be doing some volunteer work for her summer event.  Besides getting to be in an office again, the best part about Thursday was getting to commute to work with Andrew.  It was just like old times and brought us back to our carefree dating days. Commuting with him gives me something to look forward to when/if the sadness of leaving Adalyn takes over.

I'll need to take on more free photography sessions to get that part of the business built up.  This week, I'll be working on my website and Andrew has me working on a business plan.  I'm so thankful for his finance-minded spirit.  It will help me to stay focused and take things step by step.  I feel so blessed to get to honor my dreams and aspirations and still get to spend lots of quality time with Adalyn.  Nothing will ever beat time with her.  1pm is my new favorite hour!  She was a perfectly happy baby when I came home on Thursday.

And my other daughter? Jada's new nickname is the nap warden.  She stands watch over the crib while Adalyn naps.  While Addy's naps are predictable and she is back to putting herself to sleep, they still aren't over 40 minutes.  She wakes up happy, so I guess I can't really ask for anything more.
I realized on Saturday that I never took her 6 month couch picture.  We have to have this for the one year collage I plan to make!
And then I couldn't stop myself with the camera.
I'm really liking my 50mm 1.4.  And beware, Andrew agreed that if I make a business plan, we can use our tax return money to buy the lens I've been coveting for a while:  Canon's 70-200mm f/2.8 IS USM II  Oh yea, baby.

And remember when I said that this cute little lady was probably going to skip crawling because she hated being on her stomach?
Well, I retract that statement.  She loves to roll onto her belly now, and it's only a matter of time that this barrell rolling monkey starts to crawl.
Perhaps TMI for some, but in an effort to remain transparent about motherhood (and battle the taboo-ness of breastfeeding) on this blog:  I plan on nursing her until she weans herself (hopefully not past 18 months), and I've been working on her feeding while sitting up.  She's getting too darn long to lay flat across.  She's getting the hang of it!

And another reminder that our baby is inching closer and closer to toddlerhood: We went out to Outback Steakhouse with my parents after church today.  I casually mentioned to the waitress that it's Andrew's birthday on Wednesday.  She surprised him with one of those embarrasing songs and icecream.  I thought, "oooooooo Daddy/daughter camera moment!"
And then, it a split second, she went for the flame.  Thankfully, she just got whipped cream.
This parenthood thing is about to get a lot more interesting.
