Summer Days!

I have a thing about putting Eloise in onesies.  There is still so much "baby" about her and the onesies just make her even more squishable.  Andrew always jokes with me that this is the reason why I'm not wanting another baby just yet.  It's true - she's my little baby and cuddle bug.

But this girl?  There is about zero baby left in her.  Well, there are nights before bed when she asks me to rock her and feed her the water bottle like a baby.  I oblige, of course, because I know that soon, she won't even want me to pick her up!  I mean, will you look at these photos?  I can see her future little 16 yr old self all too well.  I was talking to her about the possibility of going to get her first haircut.  Adalyn quickly replied, "No!  I want it to be long like Tangled".   So I took the blow dryer and lightly straightened her gorgeous curls to show her how long her hair is.

Mom and Dad got a new puppy named Kumu about 2 weeks ago, and the girls love having a new little toy to play with.

The weeks have been BUSY.  Andrew has progressed past the 2nd interviews with both restructuring companies in the city, and is just going in this week to take "assessments" which is the last step in the process.  We are hoping and praying that we have some sort of offer by the end of next week!  It's a lot for him to prepare for these interviews, and a lot for me to be working so much.  Taking last weekend off was completely necessary, and it was a PERFECT weekend.

After runs on Saturday morning, we headed out to the strawberry fields and picked some berries!

I don't think Eloise actually picked any, but she ate about a quart of them.

ummmm, are they not just freaking adorable?

After that, we headed to pool.

And then Andrew and I went out with a few friends for a date night.  Andrew finally let loose and I had to actually drive home!  haha.  Bartaco in Westport is definitely our go-to spot now.

I got up with the girls Father's Day morning and Adalyn helped me bake some strawberry pancakes and a strawberry pie.

An episode of Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood played on the TV and then we all headed out to church.

After church, we hopped on over to my parents for another great bbq.  I love our Sunday summer cookouts.

  1. I love the way you capture all the beautiful details of summer. From the wet, curly strands of Adalyn's hair to the halfway eaten corn on the cob. Such talent! Your girls are gorgeous. And, Adalyn with straight hair?! Wow!
