Eloise Joyce :: You are TWO!

Well, to be honest, it's the night before your 2nd birthday that I'm typing this.  I'm kind of an emotional mess right now because I just watched your birthday video:

I just can't handle how fast the last 2 years have gone by.  And I just can't handle that God picked ME to be your mother.  The amount of joy and love you have brought into my heart and into our family is immeasurable.  You are my cuddle bug.  You want to be held most of the time and I love having you on my hip...my little monkey, my BABY.  You are not allowed to be two years old.

Oh but Ellie, Elles Belles, Baby, you are pretty mighty for only being 23 lbs.  You challenge me in ways I only read about on toddler blogs.  You are the kid who is into everything - the one who stuffs toilet paper down the toilet, grabs food and eats it out of the trashcan, colors the couch in marker (we ONLY have washable crayons and markers in the house because of you!).  You have a habit of screaming, biting, and hitting as well.  But somehow, with you, it's all just really stinkin' cute, and I have a REALLY hard time disciplining you.  What can I say?  You know how to work me.

You were such an easy newborn and baby, but I should have known that taking your first steps at 10 months meant you were going to strong and smart!

You are speaking full sentences, though sometimes they sounds like they are in Chinese.  Your favorite foods are pasta and yogurt, and I wouldn't put it past you to eat them together if given the chance.  Your favorite song is "Frosty the Snowman" and you make me sing you the thumpity thump thump part over and over again.  In fact, singing is probably your favorite thing to do.  I'm amazed at not only how well you remember the words to songs, but also the melodies.

You are such a little goofball, and love to make people, especially your big sis, laugh and smile.  I'm actually having a hard time finding words to describe your personality, because, I don't know - you are just Eloise.  These pictures I took of you in Texas describe you better than words ever could.  Goodness, I LOVE you.

You are such a good little sister too.  Adalyn is quite the hugger and squeezer, and it's like you know that she needs it, so you just let her love on you, however uncomfortable it may be.

We celebrated your birthday a bit this Easter weekend, and we are having your little playgroup over for a little party tomorrow.  And Daddy and I are taking you to your first carnival on Saturday!  More to come, my love, but I had to wish you Happy 2nd Birthday tonight.
