Texas, a Wedding, Bluebonnets, and some Stomach Bug

I'm a month behind on this post and weeks behind on our Easter post, but I'm happy to be posting this now.  :)  For once, I can say that our lives don't feel crazy.  I've really kept up with my "part time" work schedule and that has made the mommy/work balance thing go pretty smoothly.  We've all been adjusting to Andrew's new travel schedule, and I can say that as of this week, it feels normal.  But I've been a lot more tired lately, and COMPLETELY forgetting that I'm pregnant at times (not kidding).  Pictures of the bump are just not happening, but I did snap this cell phone shot at what I think was 22 weeks.  I'm 23.5 now, and I swear I'll take a photo this weekend to mark viability week!

Did I even post about this poor kid's anatomy scan?  I don't think so.  Well, Baby August is growing perfectly and whatever baby bits are down there, I've been told are looking good too.  I can't believe we are actually doing this Team Green thing, but I'm super excited about it!

Here he/she is!  Definitely another Andrew clone.  I cannot wait to hold you, baby!!

Back to our Texas trip for Andrew's brother's wedding:  It started off with a very early 6am flight down to Houston - just me and the girls.  They were surprisingly pretty good given the 4hour flight and having to get up at 3:30am.  Thank you, Frozen.

My super awesome and sweet sister in law met us at the airport since Andrew had to finish up at the office.  I was able to get in a little nap AND a shower and snapped a 19w photo  before the rehearsal and the rehearsal dinner.

The girls were so stinking cute in the dresses my mother in law bought them!

The next morning, my grandparents (who happened to be passing through Houston) stopped at our hotel and met us for breakfast.  They hadn't seen Adalyn since she was a baby and had never met Eloise, so it was really great to see them!

My sweet mother in law treated me to a blowout that afternoon, and then it was time to get wedding ready!

The girls were 100% adorable and Miss Adalyn walked down the aisle like the freaking Princess of Houston.  Eloise didn't quite make it down all the way, but she was still cute.  ;)

Also, Adalyn joined in on Eric and Jenna's first dance!

On Sunday (which was supposed to be our last day - more on that later), we headed to the Houston Rodeo.  This was a serious petting zoo.  Eloise was a bit overwhelmed.

And before dinner that evening, we spotted an amazing wild Texas bluebonnet patch, and well, I couldn't leave Texas without snapping some pictures of the girls.  I only had my 50mm with me on this trip, and I loved the challenge of capturing this with only one lens.

We pushed dinnertime a bit that night, and Eloise was done.  I also was not feeling great.....

The next morning, I was still feeling pretty awful and it felt like the evil stomach bug was going to show its face again.  But having not gotten sick, the girls and I headed to the airport and I decided I was just going to suck it up and do the flight home.  But then, as I was getting our stroller tagged and boarding the plan, Adalyn vomited all over the floor.  As I reached for something to clean it up, Eloise followed in her footsteps.  And as I was frantically thinking, "Did this just happen?!!!", Adalyn threw up again.  At that point, I knew the stomach bug was back, and I worked with the flight attendant to get our suitcase off the plane and rebooked our flight for Wednesday morning.

Thankfully, Andrew still had his brother's car since they were off on their honeymoon, and he left the office and picked us up at the airport.

The rest of the day was a recovery day, but by Tuesday, we were all feeling great!  It was 80 degrees and sunny and I decided that we were going to make the most of our extra "vacation day" and the girls and I headed off to the Houston Zoo.  It was honestly one of the best days I've had with the girls in a really long time.  I only wish Andrew could have been there.  Despite the obvious challenges of a 3 1/2 yr old and a 2 yr old, I'm just loving being their mom at this age.

And then, obviously, I had to go visit that bluebonnet field again.  You know how they say God promises to make good out of bad situations?  Well, here is the proof of that promise.  I will cherish these images forever, for multiple reasons.

Andrew dropped us off at the airport Wednesday morning, and the girls did SOOOOO well on the plane.  Ok, there might have been a little help from the iPad AND multiple lollipops, but you do what ya gotta do, right?
