Hump Day Bump Day | 12 weeks
How far along?: 12w 2days
How big is baby?: The size of a plum or 2.1in.
Weight gain/loss?: I've gained 4lbs thanks to fatigue and a carb-only diet to battle the nausea. Oh well. Thankfully I started below my pre-pregnancy weight with Adalyn.
Stretch marks?: Not yet. Hope I'm as lucky as last time.
Maternity clothes?: Not yet. I can still wear my jeans comfortably, but I know that won't last.
Sleep?: So so. Every other night I seem to battle insomnia.
Food cravings?: Just random things here and there. Yesterday it was a turkey melt.
Gender?: We will find out on 11/15, but will do a cute gender reveal that weekend. I'm already planning with my photographer friend. But, I do have a pretty strong feeling today that it is a boy.
Movement?: Believe it or not, I'm feeling flutters already. My OB said it's not too early for a 2nd time mom, so now I know I'm not crazy.
Belly button?: no change.
Symptoms?: my nausea has lessened up considerably, but it still shows itself now and again. I can no longer stand onions or eggs and the smell of Adalyn's scrambled eggs in the morning just about kills me. The fatigue is still full-force, so I'm really looking forward to next few weeks and settling into the 2nd trimester.
What are you looking forward to this week?: A weekend of football and family.
Annnnnnd, we had our NT scan this morning! Everything looks great. The fluid behind the neck (amount can indicate Downs) came back 1.6. Anything less than 3 is considered normal. And Little One is actually measuring 6 days ahead. I have learned to think absolutely nothing of this from Adalyn, however. She measured 10 days ahead pretty consistently and she was average size and late!
Here is Little One. And for some reason, I want to introduce as "Little Guy". We shall see....
And for comparison, here is Adalyn at her NT scan:
How cool that they both gave us a hand wave!
And 12 week bump with Adalyn:
Please note that I was already wearing a maternity shirt at this point. This just makes me laugh because I was so eager to "fit" into maternity clothes. This time, I'll be pushing my regular clothes to the limit!
And lastly, our announcement picture that went up on Facebook today! Photo credit goes to my dear friend Ute, of Ute-Christin Photography. Thanks for turning my Pinterest vision into a reality!
