Happy New Year!

We are back from a week in TX and we had a great time!  The hardest part about being back?  Little Miss Adalyn got used to people holding her all day and rocking her to sleep for her naps.  She finally went down for her morning nap after 15 minutes of crying...not too bad, but still a step backwards from where we were.  Oh well!

Highlight of the trip?  Andrew and I left Adalyn for the first time on New Years Eve.  His mom and grandma were there, so I wasn't too worried...though I did look at pictures of her on my phone all night!  We went out in Austin with his friends from high school.  I haven't been that hungover in a while, but it felt great to get out and remember our pre-parent selves for a bit.  The worst part was waking up at 7am because I needed to pump. So, not quite our pre-parent selves, but it will do.  We made it to his mom's church for the 11am  service on Sunday, and I couldn't help but hold Adalyn and cry.  I missed her so much and I realized how much I never want to know life without her.

Speaking of my angel, she turned 5 months on the 30th.  I can't believe it.

Biggest milestone?  She's sitting up pretty well!  I actually noticed a huge difference this morning when she sat up to reach for my water bottle.  We didn't have a 5 month appt this month (since we did all her shots at the 4 month one), but I'm guessing she's about 15 pounds or so.  This girl likes to eat.  This month, we'll be moving on to 2oz. servings of solids 2x per day.  I'm also contemplating retiring the infant carseat a bit early. It's just getting too heavy to lug in and out of the car.  That of course means using the big girl stroller permanently, and I'm just not sure I'm ready to go there yet.
