WAHM and Answered Prayers

In Bump Land (http://www.thebump.com/), that stands for Work at Home Mom, and I guess you can call me one of those now!  I've taken on two small part time "gigs", most of which I can do from home. I honestly miss working and I'm hoping that this will be a great balance between doing something for myself and being there for Adalyn.  Neither will really pay much, but both will help me with my long term goal of having my own event and photography business.  The first job is working with one of my former bosses and her start up non-profit consulting business.  The second is managing a big event for an organization I have wanted to work for ever since I learned of its existence.  I'm interviewing a nanny at 11am.  It feels so wierd to be doing so...like I'm actually a grown up with a kid ;)  But I need the help with Adalyn in order to actually get any work done - naps are still quite the challenge.

I have been praying for a situation like this for a long time, and both opportunities really just fell in my lap (placed there by Him, of course).  Becoming a mother was a huge identity change for me, and I was losing sight of my own career goals and aspirations.  I just couldn't see how they would fit together.  So I prayed.  I prayed for clarity, for peace, and for a vision of my future - our family's future.  It took almost six months, but true to His own perfect timing, God answered.  I can see me working in my little home office, looking out the window as a school bus pulls in front of the house and I'm there greeting my babies after a school day.  A girl can dream, right?

And for your viewing pleasure, a sneak peak at Little Miss A's 6 month photoshoot.  We had a random sunny and 50 degree day here on Tuesday, so I shot her pictures a week early.  The lighting in our apartment is terrible and I couldn't pass up the natural light opportunity.
